Thab Stove : Back To Basics

Transient

Keep cooking when all else fails. Based on the century-old Tibetan dung stove, Vancouver designer, Liz To, created the 'Thab Stove', a more functional version made from repurposed wire hangers. Weaved into a cylindrical form this small stove framework becomes rigid and sturdy when assembled, using the most rudimentary building blocks - stones and small boulders. 'Thab' also features an L-shaped combustion chamber which serves to reduce heat loss and smoke produced when cooking. This project was done in efforts to reduce waste and provide a more functional, portable cooking stove for those who live a nomadic lifestyle.
