Grilled Spaghetti Bolognese

A gourmet step-up from burgers and hot dogs.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

1 Medium Onion, diced

3 Garlic Cloved, diced

5 Mushrooms, thinly sliced

750ml Organic Tomato Puree (bought or homemade)

300g Ground Beef

2 Chilli Peppers (optional)

Handful Fresh Basil

Salt/Pepper, to taste

500g Spaghetti

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over a large fire. In a skillet, sauté your garlic, mushroom and onions in a large splash of olive oil. When soft, add in your ground beef and cook it until brown and crispy. Next, add in your tomato puree, chilli peppers, basil and salt/pepper. Move away from the main flames and let simmer while the pasta boils. Not covering your sauce allows the pasta to gain a smokey flavour from the fire - which we prefer. When ready, strain your pasta and mix everything together in the large boiling pot. Optional: When ready, sauté each serving in a skillet over high heat for a crispy take on a regular pasta dish.  Serves 4.
