Corpse Reviver No. 2

CorpseReviverNo2.jpg

An early American pre-Prohibition morning cocktail that was meant to "revive ones corpse", in other words start your day off right or cure a hangover. The Corpse Reviver No. 2 is tasteful and timeless; the pairing of citrus and gin enhance the herbal notes of absinthe and make for a refreshing, well-balanced drink. Cocktails from the 1920's were stronger than today's mojitos and mimosas; four of these will be sure to un-revive the corpse again.

1 oz. gin

1 oz. lemon juice

1 oz. Cointreau

1 oz. Lillet blanc

1 dash absinthe

Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a citrus peel.
