DIY Biodegradable Seed Starter Pots

With winter finally fading and the temperature warming, it is the perfect time to start planting - and who knew by making a few scissor cuts, the average toilet paper roll can serve well as a biodegradable seed pot. These easy to make seed starter pots are ideal for starting delicate plants indoors - sheltered from late frosts or extreme rain, until the roots catch and they are ready to be planted. They are simple to make, biodegradable, and you already have the raw materials on hand - all you need are some organic seeds and a little bit of soil. Make four vertical cuts that go halfway down the length of the roll and fold those four cut tabs down to form the bottom of the pot. Add your soil and seed and you can plant them directly. The cardboard will break down and become part of the soil. Perfect for starting basil, kale and chard.
