Berry Peach Red Wine Sangria


In preparation for the summer months.

4 Cups Fresh Organic Strawberries

1/2 Cup Sugar

1/2 Cup Water

1 Bottle Of Your Favourite Red Wine (something dry and fruity)

1 Cup Fresh, local and organic, Blueberries (if not available replace with blackberries, currants or grapes)

1/4 Cup Triple Sec

1/4 Cup Brandy

1 Peach, Thinly Sliced

To make your strawberry syrup combine 5 cups trimmed and halved strawberries, sugar, and water. Bring just to boiling, stirring to dissolve sugar. Remove from heat. Cover and cool to room temperature. Press mixture, a little at a time, through a mesh sieve and discard solids (you should have about 3 cups syrup). Once cool, add blueberries, Triple Sec, Brandy and the strawberry syrup into a pitcher. Lightly muddle to release the flavours. Add in your wine, peach slices and stir. Cover and let refrigerate for 4 - 24 hours. Garnish with whatever is in season - a sliced orange, strawberry or pears and serve over ice.
