Tweed : Camouflage Circa 1840

Today you're more likely to see tweed in the city to help a man stand out. But for the sporting gentleman, outdoor clothing has always demanded form and function go hand-in-hand. The pattern of weave used to fashion the jacket and trousers not only proved to make for a long wearing fabric but enabled the hunter to blend into the landscape. Some of the first weavers experimented with a multitude of weaves and colour variations to find out what combinations would allow stalkers to evade the keen eye of their pray. Personally we applaud the sportsmen that uphold the style and tradition.
